To mark the exhibition Japan: Courts and Culture, at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, the Sainsbury Institute are delighted to announce an upcoming event which will further explore the themes of the exhibition and some of the spectacular objects it holds, on display for the first time. Organised by Royal Collection Trust in collaboration with the Sainsbury Institute, this event will be held at Windsor Castle bringing together experts from across the world and promises to be an unprecedented window into the diplomatic, artistic and cultural exchange between the British and Japanese royal and imperial families.
The conference ticket includes a private visit to the State Apartments at Windsor Castle, an evening reception at Japan House London, and a private evening view of Japan: Courts & Culture at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, as well as attendance for both days of the conference.

Online only tickets are also available for delegates who cannot attend in person but wish to participate in the conference. A Zoom link will be sent in advance of the event. Please note that the online only tickets do not allow access to Windsor Castle or The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace.
