Opening Reception – ‘Hokusai: Art Beyond Boundaries’ and ‘Tanzaku’

Wednesday 17 July, 2024
6:00pm BST - 8:00pm BST

To celebrate the opening of two of our exhibitions – Hokusai: Art Beyond Boundaries and Tanzaku – we are delighted to host a special opening event at the Shoe Factory in Norwich.

Canapes and drinks will be provided at the event and we are pleased to collaborate with the National Centre for Writing to bring you a special poetry reading by Erica Hesketh. We invite attendees to explore the displays in the exhibition while listening to this selection of poems read by the author, echoing the creative environment of the tea salons of 19th century Japan where the tanzaku were created.

Doors open at 18:00 with speeches and poetry from 18:45. RSVP to sisjac@sainsbury-institute.org.
