Thanks to the generous support of the Ishibashi Foundation, the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures is delighted to announce the launch of a major new initiative, the Ishibashi Foundation Network Leader Fellowship Programme in Japanese Arts.
Directed at postgraduate students in Japanese arts from around the world, the programme is intended to foster a new network of next-generation specialists through a year-long programme of online mentoring leading to an intensive residential programme in Norwich, UK, in summer 2026. Participants will each receive a bursary to enable them to develop a project relating to Japanese art, join the online mentoring, and take part in the residential programme.
Full details will be released and applications will open on 31 March 2025 with a deadline of 30 May 2025, and the programme will commence in October 2025, with preliminary online meetings in summer 2025.
